About Amanda

My name is Amanda Wells and I want to share my love and passion for plants and healing with my community. I am an animist and believe that there is a definite lack of connection to all of the beauty and depth of the life around us. I am a devoted student to the infinite lessons the plant world is here to show me, and I enjoy sharing this with others. I also respect science and am fascinated with learning about plants on a constituent/chemical basis.

My career started as a massage therapist at the Finger Lakes School of Massage in 1995. Where I developed a love for energy work. I learned Craniosacral Therapy from Upledger in 2000 and 2003.  I received my first Reiki I in 2001 followed by Reiki II in 2006 and finally Reiki III in 2019.

In 2011 I wanted to switch gears and reconnect with my childhood passion for essential oils and plant medicine, I enrolled at Aromahead and learned clinical aromatherapy. This is when I fell in love with making products. While I love essential oils, I acknowledge that they are resource hungry. I also feel limited with their safe usage due to their concentration and frustrated by how inaccessible they can be to many people.

I began exploring whole plant medicine on my own, prompted by a beautiful experience with milkweed. In 2013 I enrolled at the Big Tree School of Natural Healing to learn Meridian Massage, but also to help me dive deeper into the world of energetics.

In 2017 I was ready to sink my teeth into some real herbal training, I enrolled in the weekend program at the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine and learned botany and clinical herbalism.

I started workshops in August 2018 mainly as a way to share all the information. While I have a limited interest in doing clinical herbalist work, I have a deep passion for medicine making. The world of plant medicine and medicine making is large and can be overwhelming. My intention is to help break it down and make it fun, accessible, respectful, and educational.

The plants have been here before us. They are our ancestors. They sustain and support us body and spirit. The connection to them and to each other is the strongest medicine.
